Kate Hudson announced her engagement to Muse singer Matt Bellamy this morning on "Today" -- after Matt Lauer got distracted by her giant ring!
Matt paused during his interview with Kate to reach for her hand and ask "I just want to see something. Is this new? You're engaged!" -- with the pregnant actress responding "I'm engaged, it just happened a week ago."
As for why she hadn't told anyone yet, Hudson said "I'm so glad you noticed. I kinda felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, I was just waiting for someone to notice."
She didn't go into the details of the proposal, but said "it was very sweet, it was very romantic. He [Matt] is a beaitiful man, I'm excited.
This will be Kate's second marriage. She was previously married to Chris Robinson, who she has one son with, Ryder.
