The actor playing Superman has found his real-life Lois Lane.
Henry Cavill, who will portray the hero in next year's "Superman: Man of Steel," recently became engaged.
His fiancee is Ellen Whitaker, an athlete in training whose goal is to make the British showjumping team for the 2012 London Olympics.
Cavill reached out to Whitaker's father asking for his permission to take her hand in marriage. He proposed to her while she was visiting him in Hollywood.
"I couldn't believe it when he asked me to marry him," The Belfast Telegraph quotes Whitaker saying. "I thought we were there to celebrate his birthday [Cavill turns 28 today]. It was such a surprise and I am so happy."
You can see the birthday boy in the "Immortals," a stylish "300" meets "Clash of the Titans"-esque action film coming out this November.
