Orlando who?
With Orlando Bloom out of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, Disney has found a new hunk in 24-year-old Sam Claflin.
The green-eyed actor plays Philip Swift in the fourth installment of the series, "On Stranger Tides." Swift is a missionary who gets tangled up with mermaid Syrena (played by fellow newcomer Astrid Berges-Frisbey).
Born in Suffolk, England, Clafin has already built an impressive resume, starring in the critcally acclaimed TV series "The Pillars of the Earth" alongside fellow "Pirates" actor Ian McShane.
Next up, a big screen adaptation of "Snow White and the Huntsman" opposite Kristen Stewart. Claflin hasn't met his costar yet, but is familiar with her work:
“I'm a big fan,” Sam told Access Hollywood. “I've seen the 'Twilight' films, I've seen 'The Runaways'; I've seen 'Into The Wild.' I'm a huge fan and I'm very honored and privileged to again have another opportunity to hopefully show that I belong here. I still don't feel like I do. It feels like an absolute dream world every time I come to LA.”
As for having the same on-screen chemistry with Stewart that Robert Pattinson has, Claflin knows he has to step it up for "Twilight" fans.
“I will not let them down,” he added. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” opens in theaters next Friday, May 20.
