Fashion trends come and go, but the preppy look will always be in style.
No one does classic prep like Tommy Hilfiger. The American designer launched his new "Prep World" pop-up store at The Grove in Los Angeles Thursday. It was a star-studded turn out, with movies stars like Malin Akerman and Hailee Steinfeld hitting the red carpet. Also in attendance, Justin Chambers and Melissa George of "Grey's Anatomy" fame, Bijou Phillips, and Cobie Smulders.

Want to recreate the prep look for yourself? Girls can pair white skirts with dark cropped blazers (as seen on attendees Steinfeld, Phillips, and Taryn Manning). Guys can opt for tailored suits with brightly colored ties (like Ioan Gruffudd and "Melrose Place's" Michael Rady). The palette? Navy and sky blues, whites, and tans. Belts are a must for any look, of course.
