Debra Messing has made a career portraying women in troubled marriages (i.e. "Will & Grace" and "The Starter Wife").
Unfortunately, life imitates art. Debra's rep announced today that the 41-year-old actress and Daniel Zelman have split after 10 years of marriage. They have a 7-year-old son, Roman.
The couple "privately separated earlier this year after a 10 year marriage," Messing's rep told People. "The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family."
No separation date was specified, but the couple did hit the red carpet together last Halloween for Bette Midler's costume charity.
Debra and Daniel met when they were both students at NYU and had an eight-year courtship.
