Wolverine is coming back to the big screen -- and we've got your first shot of Hugh Jackman in "costume."
The buff actor was spotted on set of "The Wolverine" yesterday in Sydney, Australia ... where he was showing off his incredibly ripped physique as he ran around shirtless.
"We're on day 1 of shooting…..wolverine is back…feel so pumped about this one……never felt so ready!!!! will keep y'all posted," Hugh tweeted on Monday.
"and you know what that means.... the wolverine diet!! this was meal 2 at 9am this morning," he added along with a pic of a healthy meal consisting of chicken breast, asparagus and green beans.
The movie, due out July 2013, is rumored to follow the X-Men member to Japan where he'll battle Silver Samurai.
