Ryan Lochte's not as big of a playboy as his mother played him out to be!
The Olympic swimmer just cleared up his mother Ike Lochte's overshare of personal information regarding his love life.
In an interview with the "Today" show on Monday, Ike attempted to explain why her adored athlete son was still single … except she may have caused him more harm than help!
“He goes out on one-night stands. He's not able to give fully to a relationship because he's always on the go,” she told “Today.”
Almost instantly the interview went viral, but Us Magazine got the New York native to clear up his mother's risqué statements.
“They took it out of context. My mom is really new to all of this and the media. She meant since the last 4 years I just wanted to focus on swimming, and I didn't really have time for a relationship,” Ryan tells Us.
When it comes to finding that special someone, Lochte admits that he's totally invested when it comes to relationships -- but being an Olympic swimmer and all, finding Mrs. Right has had to take a backseat to the Summer Games.
“When I'm in a relationship, I want to give that person my entire heart and I wasn't able to do that because of swimming,” he confesses.
“I'm always on the go. So what she meant is that I do go out on dates, but it's not that thing that everyone is talking about, because that's not me. I've never done that and never have been like that, so I don't want people to think that about me.”
Luckily for women of the world, the sexy swimmer has finally finished his Olympic run!
“I'm done and I'm relieved! I'm excited that the Games are over,” he says.
“The last four years have been really hard. I'm happy with how well I did. I'm happy with my overall performance.”
And he should be! In the 2012 London Olympic Games, Lochte's won a total of 5 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze)!
Oh, we're sure the swimming-hottie will have just as much success finding his leading lady ... maybe even getting some birthday love? Ryan Lochte turns 28 years old today! Happy Birthday Ryan!
