Many were shocked last month when it was announced that Shakira and Usher would be replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on "The Voice" next season. Who knew they were leaving?
"Extra" correspondent Terri Seymour sat down with Xtina, to find out what really prompted her to leave the NBC show.
"We all went into it genuinely, wholeheartedly wanting to support new talent and be able to be the best coaches that we can be," the 31-year-old explained. "The only way that I can continue to do that and give great advice is if I fulfill my creative soul."
The popstar's new album "Lotus" drops next month, and she plans to take time away to support her music and tour.
"I need get back to who I am so that I can maybe return and be an even better coach with new experiences and new stories to tell and new advice to give," she continued.
