Oh, Kim Kardashian. Sweet, lovely, inappropriate Kim Kardashian. You'll never change.
The pregnant reality star has been known to take stands on various topics, yet she always ends up just contradicting herself. Let's examine the facts.
1. Guns
On December 14, the day of the tragic Sandy Hook shootings, the 32-year-old tweeted "In total shock over the school shooting in Ct!...What has this world come to…These kids come to school to learn, never expecting this tragedy to happen. They didn't deserve this. Praying for everyone involved!"
She followed up on January 14 with this nice message, "Today, people in Newtown are making the #sandyhookpromise to reduce gun violence. Sign the pledge with me at https://www.sandyhookpromise.org".
That promise says "I Promise to honor the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I Promise to do everything I can to encourage and support common sense solutions that make my community and our country safer from similar acts of violence." It's a great and noble cause.
Fast forward to February 2 when Kim decides to post the diamond encrusted pistol above on her Instagram account. Really, less than 3 weeks after vowing to honor those who senselessly died thanks to gun violence, you post a pic glamorizing (literally) firearms? Of course, this hypocrisy was immediately called out by fans and media, which led to Kardashian yanking the pic from her account. Nicely done.
2. Her butt
In August 2011, Kim lashed out at the paparazzi for photographing her from the back while she was leaving a workout at Barry's Boot Camp.
"It's just really rude when you do that," the spandex-clad star complained. "Why do you need a picture from behind?"
Ooooook. We couldn't even try to guess how many times since then Kim has posed on the red carpet with her butt to the camera. In fact, she posted the pic above on her Instagram account this week! The caption says "My little Mason!!!!" but really, that pic has nothing to do with her nephew. Gross.
3. Sex tapes
For the girl who got famous thanks to a little home movie with her co-star Ray J, Kim is the last person who should be taking digs at others who also have sex tapes. But come on, like that's gonna stop her?
Watch this clip from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" in which she takes a jab at Paris Hilton's little night vision-enhanced home movie. Keep it Klassy, Kim!
4. No peace in the Middle East
a.) Kim graced the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey in April of last year. Sure, she's been on a billion mag covers, but this one was bad bad BAD as Turkey (known as the Ottoman Empire at the time) was responsible for the genocide of 1-1.5 million Armenians during World War I.
Did we mention thet Kim is Armenian AND April 24th is know as Genocide Remembrance Day, when people commemorate those who died during the horrific events? Yikes.
Needless to say there was much scrutiny, leading Kim to take to her blog to issue an apology:
"I just found out today that I am on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey this month. Cosmopolitan Magazine has a number of international editions all around the world that run in various territories, and when I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month. My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover."
b.) Fast forward to November. Amidst more Palestine-Israel violence, Kim tweeted "Praying for everyone in Israel." This was of course followed by an outcry for her pro-Israel comments which then prompted her to tweet “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!” Uh, that doesn't help.
Kim then deleted the tweets and posted yet another apology on her blog:
"I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize. I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires."
c.) BUT WHY WOULD IT STOP THERE. Less than two weeks later, Kim hit up Kuwait and Bahrain to open up new chains of Millions of Milkshakes and to allegedly “educate herself about the Middle East.” Lesson number one (this time) came not long after she landed in Kuwait, where protesters cried out about her values (or lack thereof) clashing with the predominantly Muslim people of the nation. The same happened in Bahrain. I mean. Take a hint, girl.
5. Baby Kimye
Ok, we are going to preemptively call this one. Kim has publicly stated that her and Kanye West's baby will not appear on any of the family's reality shows.
"When the baby's old enough, and he or she decides that's what they want to do, then that'll be their decision," she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! See her full comments above.
Based on her past actions, who else wants to call BS on this one too?
