We've all been guilty of posting a selfie or two -- so it makes sense that the term is Oxford English Dictionary's "Word of the Year."
"It seems like everyone who is anyone has posted a selfie somewhere on the Internet," Oxford posted to its blog. "If it is good enough for the Obamas or the pope, then it is good enough for Word of the Year."
The dictionary describes the word as the use of a self-portrait that's snapped with a smart phone and posted to social networks.
"Selfie" was up against the word "twerk" -- and we're pretty happy that it took the win (here's to hoping twerking goes away in 2014!).
Everyone seems to love a good self-portrait though, especially celebrities! Click "Launch Gallery above to see some of our favorite stars' shirtless selfies like Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, Chris Pratt and more!
