Paul Walker Dead at 40 -- Hollywood Reacts

According to TMZ, the actor was in a Porsche in Santa Clarita when the driver lost control of the car and clammed into a pole or tree. The car then burst into flames.

Both Paul and the other person in the vehicle were killed.

A rep for the actor confirmed the news on Walker's official Facebook page.

"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives," the post reads.

"Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time."

Walker leaves behind 15-year-old daughter Meadow.

Almost instantly, stars have been turning to Twitter to offer their condolences for or memories of the actor. We'll keep updating the reactions below as more come in.

FYI: After initially sending us a quote from a Vin Diesel Instagram account, the actor's rep now says the page is a fake. Vin has not yet released any statement about Walker's death.
