The future of humanity looks bleak in the first trailer for "Dawn of The Planet of The Apes."
Taking place almost a decade after the last film (and not starring James Franco or Freida Pinto), the new sequel focuses on a group of humans trying to survive after a virus wiped out the population.
"A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier," the official plot summary explains.
"They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species."
We get a glimpse of new franchise stars Keri Russell, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman in the trailer -- and one very angry looking ape.
The movie doesn't open until July 11, 2014 -- are you already excited?
