Surprise! Jeremy Renner is a married man!
The "Avengers" star revealed that he secretly married his girlfriend and baby mama Sonni Pacheco -- breaking the news during a screening of "Kill the Messenger" in Washington D.C. , Tuesday.
Renner confirmed suspicions by flashing his wedding band and telling Capitol File magazine, "I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy. I don't need her to get hammered with my life."
After dropping the word "wife" for the first time, the actor was then asked point-blank if he was married. He simply replied "yes."
So, why did Renner remain so tight-lipped on his relationship status? Seems the 43-year-old just likes to keep his private life private.
"It's not just me -- everyone [in Hollywood] has to deal with that,” he shared. “I've been talked about a whole lot, because the less I put out there, the less people know, and it makes it interesting, I assume."
Renner and Pacheco have 17-month-old daughter, Ava Berlin, together. He even got candid to the magazine about raising their child and being an overprotective father.
"I can't wait for her to get older, but I really enjoy her now. She's the greatest. She's into her sticker phase," he says. "As a father, I'm going to make it very difficult for her to find a man."
The notoriously private actor descrided fatherhood as “the best thing I've ever done."
"The only thing I think about when I'm not with my baby is, 'How do I get to my baby?' I need to get to her, and I'm very miserable when I don't see her. I really love being a father,” he added.
