Joaquin Phoenix just had another very interesting visit to "The Late Show."
The "Inherent Vice" star sat down for a 1:1 with David Letterman on Monday evening, where he not only revealed he was dating his yoga instructor ... but said they're also engaged.
The tale starts out innocently enough, saying his intructor challenged him during class one day to "harness his hog," an incredibly "compromising and vulnerable" position he then proceeded to demonstrate for the studio audience.
An incredulous Letterman watched as Phoenix contorted his body on the stage.
"This is the crazy part of the story," he continued. "We started dating and I think she's the one. I proposed to her and she said 'Yes.'
"So you're getting married?" asked Dave. "If everything works out," replied Phoenix. "So far, so good!"
But this morning, Phoenix just told a very different tale -- revealing that he made the whole thing up!
The actor appeared on "Good Morning America," where he said "I think my life's so boring, and it seemed like something exciting to talk about, and I wanted the audience to like me.
"They really like people getting married," he continued. "I can get engaged again, if you like."
Earlier this year, the 40-year-old actor was linked to 19-year-old DJ Allie Teilz. It's unclear if they're still together.
