Vanessa Carlton is a new mom!
The "A Thousand Miles" singer and husband John McCauley welcomed a daughter on Tuesday, and the couple announced the happy news with a picture of their baby girl.
"Sid the Kid, whoa!!!" the proud papa captioned an Instagram photo with his newborn in the operating room.
"Thanks for all the sweet wishes on our daughter. She's the quiet observer. We are in for it," Vanessa added on Twitter.
The new addition is extra special for the couple, who struggled to have a baby in the past.
"[I was] diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw.)," Carlton wrote on Facebook back in Nov. 2013. "This is not considered a viable pregnancy, because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding."
Her diagnosis would also cause her to postpone several tour dates.
"Thanks for sticking with me. [My husband] John, [our dog] Victor and I are over the moon," she said after announcing she was expecting again. "Thanks for all the nice vibes you guys are sending our way."
