Jared Leto is officially the prettiest Joker ever.
"Suicide Squad" director David Ayer just shared the first photos of the "Dallas Buyers Club" star's transformation into Batman's most notorious foe -- and he's got a lot less hair these days.
While Leto has been rocking long locks since 2012 and goes back and forth between a full-on beard and light scruff, both are MIA now.
Ayer teased the makeover earlier this morning on Twitter, posting a photo of a pair of scissors against Leto's ponytail. "Should we?" he captioned the pic.
Well, they did ... and the director followed that shot up a couple hours later with the photo on the right above -- showing Leto with a clean-shaven face and a much shorter 'do.
While he clearly has a ways to go before he's full-on Joker-ed out, this was a big step for both Leto and Ayer. Not only do they have the Joker's look planned out, with the film hitting theaters in 2016, they must also be filming soon.
We can't wait to see what his full transformation will look like -- or how different costar Margot Robbie will look as another member of the Rogue's Gallery, Harley Quinn.
And ... we just have to ask ... how the hell is Leto 43?!? With his smooth face, he looks just like he did back when he was on "My So-Called Life" in the '90s!
