It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl!
CBS just released the first look for the upcoming drama, "Supergirl," which follows Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, as she "embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be."
Created by "Arrow" and "The Flash's" Greg Berlanti and writer Ali Adler, the series is a new take on the DC comic, starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers a.k.a. Kara Zor-El.
The "Glee" star is joined in the cast by Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan, Chyler Leigh, Laura Benanti and Calista Flockhart.
The "Ally McBeal" alum plays the role of Cat Grant, Kara's tough-as-nails boss who definitely has the same look and feel as Meryl Streep's character in "The Devil Wears Prada."
One thing's for sure .... she gonna have one killer wardrobe!
As for Supergirl's costume, she's rocking red, blue and yellow -- and explains the meaning behind the "S" on her chest in the trailer above.
This new look was designed by Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who recently made costumes for "Arrow" and "The Flash."
"In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today,” Atwood said in a press release.
Check out the clip above to see Supergirl stop a plane crash, jump into a high speed chase and soar off a building!
