Arnold Schwarzenegger sounds very pleased with the way his life has turned out!
The action star opened up about his character, the Terminator, at the press conference for "Terminator Genisys" in Los Angeles on Friday -- where he spoke about his thoughts on time travel and revealed what he would change, if anything, about his own life.
In the movie, Schwarzenegger finds himself back in 1984 with Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), as he helps the duo save mankind from advanced "robotic assassins" who plan to takeover the world in the post-apocalyptic future.
During the press conference, Schwarzenegger revealed where he would go and what he would do with a his very own time machine.
"I don't know if I would be that interested in 1984, I think that if I had a chance to go back [in time], why not just go back all the way in history to the times of the pyramids or the Roman [Empire] days? I think there are so many great historic times throughout that until now, that I would like to get a little peek of those periods rather than just 1984. Why limit yourself? If I have to chance to time travel, I might as well go all out."
While the 67-year-old action star would love to use such a device to relive notable moments in history ... he wouldn't use the machine to change anything that has happened in his own life.
"I'm perfectly fine with my life. I'm very happy. I want to keep it that way," he revealed with a slight chuckle.
Although Schwarzenegger says he's "happy" with the way his life has turned out, he got extremely candid talking about mistakes he's made in his past, namely his affair and divorce from ex Maria Shriver, during an interview with Howard Stern earlier this week.
"I had personal setbacks, but this was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure," Arnold explained on Wednesday. "Without any doubt. Not only failure, but you feel like, 'I'm to blame for it. It was me that screwed up.' And you can't point the finger at anyone else. So yeah, I was disappointed in it. It's always easy to be smart in hindsight. The thing was how do you make the best of that situation?"
During the interview Schwarzenegger also revealed he's in a great place with Maria and their four children today -- and called son Joseph Baena "terrific" -- which may be the reason he wouldn't want to change his past.
