Lauren Conrad is getting very candid about her reality TV past.
The fashion designer gorgeously graces the cover of the October issue of Cosmopolitan, where she opens up about her what she learned from her time on "The Hills."
"When I did television, scandal was always around me. And I think one of the best things [about that] for me is that your life becomes more big picture," she tells the mag. "You have to develop a thick skin really quickly. It toughened me up, which is good."
One thing that tested LC was her rocky relationship with Heidi Montag, who recently proclaimed she has forgiven Lauren for "trying to ruin [her] life."
"I'm not really involved in that anymore. I don't think it has anything to do with me," Conrad declares. "You just have to focus on the good people in your life. Focusing on what you lose is only going to make you sad."
While the 29-year-old star is happily married to William Tell, she is still asked about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner. But, it seems, she doesn't keep up with the news surrounding her former flame, including his latest gig as host of "Sex With Brody."
"My husband told me [about it]," she says of Brody's sex-and-dating advice show. "He has a lot of experience … so sure, depending on what kind of advice you want."
Lauren has officially retired from reality TV, but she still credits her MTV past for enabling her to succeed in the fashion industry.
"Television was just sort of an accident… I never felt really strongly about it. But fashion is something I feel passionate about," she says. "If I hadn't done TV, I still would have ended up in the [fashion] industry, but I definitely wouldn't be in the position I am now."
