Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have a new addition to their family!
On Thursday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the host announces she and her wife have been up all night after adopting a new member into their household!
"I have not talked about this yet, but we have a new puppy. Portia and I got a puppy and his name is Kid so now we have a kid," she reveals. "Yep. I mean, he is absolutely adorable."
So, they adopted a Kid ... get it?
The 57-year-old then showed a photo of the adorable dog, which has sandy fur with a black spot on his face! The cute puppy is only 9 weeks old, but is already proving to be a handful for Ellen and her other half.
"He's 9 weeks old and cute as can be, but I'll tell you what's not cute is to wake up at 11, and 1, and 3 and 5. And then 5 is when he's up, up," she adds.
The star also has dogs Auggie and Wolf, who she says are doing great with the new addition and "teaching him a lot." While it sounds like the host has a lot of help taking care of the energetic pooch, she says she has a whole new appreciation for all the tired moms out there.
"It really makes me appreciate what it's like to be a mother," she said. "Because like I'm trying to hold a puppy while I'm trying to make coffee. And I can't do anything. He doesn't let me do anything. "
Ellen also shared why she and Portia decided on the unique moniker "Kid" for their latest addition, and we have to say it's pretty clever!
"I named him Kid because ya know people, there have been rumors forever, when are you and Portia gonna have a kid? So now I can say we have a Kid. So it can just stop."
