It's the end of an era: Cindy Crawford is retiring from modeling.
The brunette beauty got extremely candid about her career during a new interview with United Airlines' Rhapsody Magazine.
Crawford -- who turns the big 5-0 this month -- says she's tired of having to constantly "reinvent herself."
"I'm sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore," she told the mag. "And that's okay. I've done it. I've worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."
While we're sad to see Cindy retire, she did go out with a bang -- Crawford teamed up with fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer for the Balmain SS16 campaign, marking her final photo series.
Nevertheless, Cindy is excited to see what the next generation of models bring to the industry ... including her daughter Kaia, 14, who's planning to follow in her famous mama's footsteps.
"They are all taking pictures of themselves, or having their friends take pictures for their social media," Cindy said of her daughter's modeling aspriations. "Kaia would be modeling even if she weren't modeling. All the girls are modeling. They are not dependent only on how a photographer sees them. They have a direct relationship with their fans."
While it sounds like Crawford is ready for her retirement, she's happy with everything that she's been able to achieve.
"I was like, I love my job, but am I really that superficial that I just love getting my hair and makeup done and looking beautiful?" she explained. "And what I realized was that what I really love and am passionate about is communication. And the way that I have been communicating for the past 30 years has been through pictures."
