Chrissy Teigen is silencing her critics!
The 30-year-old stunner, who is expecting her first child with hubby John Legend, revealed she chose to have a baby girl during IVF. Unfortunately, after she made the revelation, the star was forced to defend herself on Twitter after she was met with a ton of criticism.
"What year is this!? And for the record, I am always happy and open to speak on infertility. The more casual, the better! I don't mind," she tweeted.
The "Lip Sync Battle" host tried to have a sense of humor about the whole situation, referring to her daughter as a "science baby" and joking that she picked the embryo with a "taste for bacon" and "size 7 feet so she can always find shoes." But the star's comments were still deemed "controversial," causing her to return to her page later that night and defend her decision even further.
from reading everything tonight, i think i made a mistake in thinking people understood the process better than they do, which is my fault..

we didn't create a little girl. we had multiple embryos. girls and boys. we simply chose to put in a female first (and second)...

"We didn't "throw away" anything and still would love to have more of both in the future," she continued. "Hard to explain such a complicated process here. You'd be surprised at how many people you know go through this. Also every doctor knows the sex of the embryos, it isn't some grand secret."

The beauty revealed that she and the "All of Me" singer were expecting their first child back in December, after coming forward about her struggle to conceive on her talk show "FABLife". Earlier this week, the star got candid in an interview with PEOPLE magazine about why she chose to have a girl.
"I've made this decision," the Sports Illustrated model told the mag. "Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, 'Let's put in the girl.' I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl."
"That excited me. It excited me to see...just the thought of seeing him with a little girl," she said of the decision. "I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We'll get there too, so it's not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa—it's crazy!"
