Blake Shelton and his new lady love are making sweet music together in more ways than one.
The country star just debuted his brand new single, "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," featuring girlfriend Gwen Stefani on iTunes.
"This is one of my favorite songs I've ever written or recorded," Shelton said in a press release about the song. "It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn't possibly be more honest. I'm honored to have written and performed this song with the great Gwen Stefani."
The track will appear on Shelton's 10th album, "If I'm Honest," which drops May 20th.
Check out a snippet of their new duet below:
In the song, Shelton wonders if his new relationship will last. "The sun is setting on your last good try/ Here I am again with half a goodbye," Shelton sings. "Wonder if you're really gone this time/ Just when I'm about to lose my mind.
Later he muses, "Maybe we could just hang awhile/ Maybe we can make each other smile."
"I'd never ever meant to get so into you," Stefani sings. "Thought I was using you just to get me through/ You know I'm broken, I don't trust anyone/ Last thing I needed was to fall in love."
"You've got me dreaming, got me thinking, I've got some hope," she continues. "There is nobody else I wanna get to know/ But I'm so scared, I don't know what to do/ How did you get me so into you?"
The two are also set to perform on "The Voice" tonight -- and man, we can't wait to see them do this one live. Bring on the fireworks!
