MTV has responded to the shocking news of former "16 and Pregnant" star Valerie Fairman's death of an apparent drug overdose.
In a statement issued Thursday to TooFab, MTV said:
"We are saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time."
Valerie's mother told TMZ that her daughter was at a friend's home in Pennsylvania when the friend attempted to revive Valerie from the bathroom.
Toxicology results are pending to determine the exact cause of Fairman's death, but general consensus is that the 23-year-old died of an overdose.
