Mel Gibson just said goodbye to that bushy beard with the help of Jimmy Kimmel.
The actor and talk show host picked a fan from the audience at "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Thursday for a free haircut. But after Gibson butchered the fan's hairstyle, Kimmel had the perfect idea for payback.
"Mel, you really should let him shave your beard in punishment," the host said, egging on the crowd as Gibson shook his head in disapproval.
"You wanna shave my beard?" Gibson could be heard asking the fan under the cheers of the audience. "Are you seriously going to let him shave the beard?" Kimmel asked. Gibson responded: "Well what do you think? I've had it for a long time. It's part of my identity."
Gibson handed the clippers over to the fan and asked, "You want to do your worst? Go."
As the fan shaved the "Braveheart" star's trademark facial hair, Gibson shouted the famed William Wallace quote: "Freedom!"
