Since the guys of One Direction have pursued solo careers, reception from fans has been mixed. Some fans are still heartbroken over their dreamy boy band splitting, while others are carefully analyzing and critiquing each member's new sound as their first singles get released.
But the guys aren't letting a little musical competition get in the way of their friendship, except for Zayn Malik that is.
Former 1D member Liam Payne was asked if the band would ever have a reunion and while the singer was hopeful that one day they will reunite, he doubts Malik would want to join.
“By the looks of things, he doesn't really want to,” Payne said. “That's on him, really. He doesn't really support the cause. So it's not like he could be.”

View StoryPayne also reveals that he and Harry Styles are both on good terms with the “Pillowtalk” singer, he doesn't understand why he talks poorly about his experience in the band after he departed in March 2015.
“It is very sad because One Direction was a wonderful, wonderful time in all of our lives. It was like uni, but on steroids. It was mad. It was madness. It was so much fun. I don't understand how you can come out of that experience and say the things that he says sometimes. It doesn't make any sense to me, but there you go.”
Malik has previously said that he never wanted to be a part of the band, especially because he didn't enjoy the genre of music on their albums.
“It's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not real to me,” Malik said after quitting the band.
