Forget Cookie Lyon, this might be Taraji P. Henson's most badass role yet.
The first trailer (below) for action movie "Proud Mary" was released on Thursday. Henson plays Mary, a Boston-based hitwoman, whose plans derail when she meets a young boy during a failed mission for a crime family.
Directed by Babak Najafi, the "Proud Mary" cast also includes Danny Glover, Billy Brown, Neal McDonough, Margaret Avery, and Xander Berkeley.

The role in "Proud Mary" is right on time for Henson's acting career, as she revealed to EW earlier this year that she wanted to play a superhero. "I haven't played a superhero yet. I haven't played a psycho character yet."
She continued that chatter later in the year when she mentioned to the NY Times that she wanted to play a Marvel superhero, specifically.
"Proud Mary" hits theaters on Jan. 12 next year.
