Nicki Minaj has taken over the internet in a NSFW "Minaj à Trois" on the cover of Paper Magazine, and Ashanti is here for it.
"I think to each her own," Ashanti told TooFab Thursday during an interview. "I think the important message is to be a strong, powerful woman and to be in control of what you do in your body and just show that you love yourself. And that's the message that I always try to convey. Being a female in this male-dominated industry, you really have to be confident and strong, and I think it's important to instill that in young women. It's about being confident and being in control and not being looked at as second to a man."

Ashanti's cover for her new single with Ty Dolla $ign, "Say Less," also leaves little to the imagination, but she told Toofab "that's the point" of the track.
"Sometimes, it's like, if it's not about the business, say less," Ashanti said. "I wanted something to pop and be fashionable, but be edgy and still classy but still sexy."
