After a long Oscars Sunday, Jimmy Kimmel was right back to work on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Monday, with Guillermo ever by his side ... if a little hung over. While Kimmel had to do the work of hosting the 90th Academy Awards, Guillermo was out on the red carpet with a "tank of tequila," as Kimmel put it, interviewing stars. And it was Guillermo who set up Tiffany Haddish's rope-jumping moment to meet Meryl Streep, so who really had the bigger evening?
"We had a long night last night," Kimmel said at the top of his monologue. "The Oscars actually just wrapped up about ten minutes ago and I came over here." Kimmel gave his studio audience a better look at the custom hot dog cannon he and his crew made specifically for the Oscars segment where he and a bunch of stars -- including Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer -- crashed a nearby screening of "A Wrinkle in Time" to surprise the audience.
6 Burning Oscar Questions Answered and 1 Mystery We May Never Solve
View StoryGuillermo got to shoot the hot dogs into the crowd, and this machine was so impressive Major League Baseball should be getting in touch with them for that one. "I pray that that technology doesn't fall into the wrong hands," Kimmel joked after showcasing its power.
But no one looked to be having more fun at the Oscars than Guillermo, who took his usual spot on the red carpet with two shoes full of alcohol. And it looks like he had more luck luring in A-list celebrities than Ryan Seacrest.
Guillermo shared shoe drinks -- he literally had tequila in one shoe and whiskey in the other -- and even had pre-written speeches for some of the celebrities. Allison Janney excitedly read hers aloud: "I'd like to thank my mother and father for making sex in a truck so that I could be born." She said she couldn't have said it better herself.
He also had a copy of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" on DVD, which he was asking everybody to sign, whether they were in it or not. Most of the stars like Mark Hamill, Ansel Elgort, Helen Mirren and Oscar Isaac were more than happy to do it, but there was one holdout.
Kumail Nanjiani wasn't too thrilled with him, either, after being overwhelmed with excitement that Guillermo had a Kaboodle loaded with booze and snacks. Guillermo said Nanjiani and his wife Emily V. Gordon could have whatever they wanted, so long as they tipped him. Nanjiani cracked a joke about only having big bills, pulling out a roll, but Guillermo had no problem taking one of them and stuffing it into his own pocket.
Oscars 2018: A Full Breakdown of This Year's Biggest OMG Moments
View StoryGuillermo's biggest moment came, though, when he was interviewing Tiffany Haddish. It was Guillermo who pointed Meryl Streep out to the "Girls Trip" star, leading to her viral moment where she jumped the rope on the red carpet to accost the screen legend. When she made her way back to Guillermo, he asked her how Streep smelled. "She smells like success," Haddish replied.
"Like you and me," Guillermo suggested. "No, you smell like alcohol!" Haddish shot back. When he tried to offer her some, Haddish turned him down, saying, "Hell no, 'cause I'll get pregnant!"
