The actress was challenged by Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" Monday to whip out her best impression of the Wookiee, and it was abysmal. We're talking so bad we're wondering if she's ever even seen a "Star Wars" movie. But at least she looked adorable in the process and was completely aware of how bad her Chewie growl is.
"I'm really bad, too," she said after Fallon tried and failed to channel the signature sound of the beloved Wookiee, who gets a lot of screen time in "Solo," according to Clarke. The late-night comedian asked his guest to say "Star Wars" dialogue in Shyriiwook, and Clarke knew as soon as the sound left her mouth that she was way off.
"That's worse than I thought it was in my head," she said through laughter. "I was like, 'It's gonna be bad,' that's terrible."
"I had a screening of the 'Star Wars' movie I'm in for my friends and family on the day," Clarke said. "So, I didn't sort of realize, so I didn't get my dates right. I thought no one would turn up, but then they did. So then they watched the movie, and I watched the wedding!"
Clarke had some more fun on the late-night show and joined Fallon and fellow guest, actor Matt Bomer, in a ultra-competitive game of charades, which you can watch below to see who won.
"Solo: A Star Wars" story hits theaters this Friday.
