Let's talk about sex, baby.
Jada Pinkett Smith, mom Adrienne Banfield-Norris, daughter Willow Smith and one of Willow's friends tackled the topic even Jada admitted was conventionally "difficult" for women to talk about on Monday's episode of her Facebook talk show, "Red Table Talk."
Jada even went as far as to reveal a past addiction to sex toys in front of Willow, and that's because she wanted to normalize the typically taboo discussion for her 17-year-old daughter.
Willow Smith Calls 'Whip My Hair' a 'Really Terrible Experience' While Getting Real With Jaden About Their Parents' Parenting
View Story"I think that people still have a very difficult time talking about sex, especially women," Jada said at the top of the episode. "I did not want Willow to have shame of any kind. She needs to be at that table to hear it all."
During the chat, Willow revealed that her introduction to sex was accidentally seeing her parents doing the deed! "My introduction to sex was obviously walking in on you and daddy," she said, something which shocked Jada. "It was in, I think Aspen, I came down to get some juice and I saw for a little moment and I ran away. I was like, 'Oh my god, this is so crazy, what did I just see?' It wasn't like I was seeing everything, the room was dark."
She added that the room was "dark," so she didn't see everything, but it felt like she had just "overstepped a boundary," like she "wasn't supposed to be there."
Jada Pinkett Smith and Gabrielle Union Hash Out Their 17-Year Falling Out on 'Red Table Talk'
View StoryBoth Jada and husband Will Smith have had open sex talks with their kids. "When I talk to dad about it, its always an intellectual debate," explained Willow. "It's always like, 'Speaking of the degrading of females in the blast, how do you believe it trickles into your experience?' It's very serious, but not emotional."
"I knew when they both lost their virginity, I sure did, that intuition," Jada added. "I knew the night Jaden lost his virginity and I had a moment with Trey in the kitchen, I looked at him and said, 'You had sex.' And he ran into the bathroom. He was embarrassed. I was like, 'You don't have to be embarrassed.' It was like their innocence was gone. I can always tell with some of your friends too, like, 'Ooh something happened.'"
The women then started talking about self-love, with Jada revealing her grandmother taught her about pleasuring herself before her first time. "She wanted me to know that pleasure was from me, she didn't want me to fall into the hands of a man and to think if he gave me pleasure, to think that was him," she explained. "She taught me at nine. At nine. We as women have been trained that women aren't supposed to enjoy sex, sex is not for women, sex is for men, pleasure is for men. Honestly, I think that's why so many women I know have never had orgasms."
Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Reason Behind All Her Turbans: 'It's Not Easy to Talk About'
View Story"I've had a lot of experience with sex toys -- lots," she continued. "I don't think I used toys with a partner, but I did use toys a lot alone. I gave myself multiples first. Multiple orgasms. I was really into it at one point. Just because I was in an exploration state and I was abstaining from men. I actually feel like I went through kind of an addiction too with it. One day I was like, enough, I was having like five orgasms a day. You can create so much pleasure, you just constantly want it."
"That's some next level, right there," joked Willow.
Jada then asked her daughter if there's still a stigma attached to a young woman who has "multiple partners," wondering if she's "still considered a slut." Willow's response: "No, she is considered a regular person."
The teenager was then asked by her mother how she feels about monogamy. "That feeling of, you're my one, and my only, there's no one else, for me, that would not work," Willow responded.
Will Smith Gets Friendzoned by Sophia the Robot, Who Is Clearly Not a Fan of His Music
View StoryIn the episode's final moments, Jada said she was just as protective of son Jaden as she was with Willow when it came to sex and sexual assault. "You know how many men I know that have been raped, as young boys, that I was as protective of Jaden as I was of you?," she explained. "He was not allowed to spend the night at anyone's house because I never underestimated that a boy child could be violated in the same way as a girl child. I did do a lot of things differently and you got to do a lot of things in this house that Jaden did not."
The women ended the video by revealing what they considering the "sexiest body part" on a member of the opposite sex. While Willow went with "the brain," Jada pointed to the space between the neck and shoulder, adding, "A little juicy booty don't hurt either!"
