'Flip or Flop' Star Christina El Moussa Getting Her Own Show on HGTV

After getting divorced from husband and "Flip or Flop" co-star Tarek El Moussa, the designer is getting her own series at HGTV, the network announced Wednesday morning.

"Real estate and house flipping expert Christina El Moussa, best known from HGTV's hit series 'Flip or Flop,' has signed a deal for a new original series with the network," reads a press release. "The eight-episode series titled Christina on the Coast will showcase Christina as she expands her design business in Southern California."

"In the series, Christina will transform clients' outdated properties into high-end showplaces. It also will put the spotlight on her personal journey after her split with husband Tarek," it continues. "As Christina searches for the perfect new home to start afresh while balancing parenthood, career and a new relationship, cameras will follow her. Christina on the Coast is set to premiere in 1Q 2019."

The release noted that Tarek is "also in discussions to develop a potential new series" of his own. HGTV also tells TooFab that they are "in discussions with Tarek and Christina about another season of 'Flip or Flop.'"

"Design is my favorite part of the house-flipping process and I can't wait to be able to now work directly with clients and create a space they've always dreamed of having," added Christina. "The past few years have brought a lot of change into my life and I am so excited to see what the next stage has in store for me both professionally and personally, there is so much to look forward to and this is only the beginning."

TooFab recently spoke with Tarek and Christina about the current season of their HGTV show, which was filmed after their high-profile split.

"There's definitely more disagreements, I would say that," said Tarek. "We're definitely not on the same page as we were before. There are little bit of ups and downs, but at the end of the day, we have the same objective, so a lot of things where we do see eye to eye." He added, "I wouldn't say anything at all is easier about filming with an ex-wife."

"We're definitely butting heads a little bit on that stuff," added Christina at the time. But, at the end of the day, it's easier to shake off those disagreements now, as she joked, "I guess when you get in an argument about something, you don't have to go home together."
