Epic 5-Minute 'Aquaman' Trailer Gives Hope Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman Can Save DC Extended Universe
Warner Bros. Entertainment
Take a Look at Jason Momoa's Evolution From TV Star to Aquaman

Thrilling chases, giant monsters, massive battles and Nicole Kidman swinging a trident have renewed our excitement for this movie after "Justice League" bombed.

Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is not the only hope the DC Extended Universe has, after all. A new 5-minute "Aquaman" trailer makes Jason Momoa's solo adventure very promising.

The highlight is an epic chase scene in which Momoa's Aquaman and Amber Heard's character, Mera, run on foot from some very tough adversaries trying to blast them to pieces.

Another highlight: Nicole Kidman KICKING ASS WITH A TRIDENT!

The action-adventure movie directed by James Wan ("The Conjuring") follows Aquaman's human alter ego, Arthur Curry, on his journey to becoming the superhero we all know and love. Or as Mera puts it, "The bridge between land and sea." He's the one true heir to the kingdom of Atlantis, but like most kingdoms, there's another guy in armor who wants to control it. Patrick Wilson plays baddie Orm, who is fixated on waging war on humans.

Expect a massive underwater battle in Atlantis by the end of this blockbuster, massive monsters and '80s action icon Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus. And did we mention NICOLE KIDMAN WIPING THE FLOOR WITH BAD GUYS USING HER TRIDENT!?

"Aquaman" hits theaters on Dec. 21 this year.
