In Memoriam of the Celebrity Relationships We Lost in 2018

Although many knots were tied and babies were had, 2018 was also a year of sadness for countless twosomes -- from marriages we never saw ending, to flings that lasted longer than they should have, all the way to couples we hope don't even reconnect in the afterlife.

It is with great sadness and our deepest sympathies that we remember these 18 celebrity relationships that ended in 2018 -- and took a piece of our hearts with them.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson called things off almost as quickly as they called things on. The pop star and comedian announced their surprise engagement in June of this year, just a few weeks after they were reported to be dating. They met on "Saturday Night Live" and began a whirlwind relationship packed with matching tattoos, a pet pig named Piggy Smallz and a $93,000 engagement ring. The two decided to go their separate ways in October. Pete got the ring, Ari got the pig and "Thank U, Next" was born.

After nearly two years of dating -- and a super-long Italian vacation -- Kourtney Kardashian broke up with 25-year-old Algerian model Younes Bendjima. The two reportedly started having problems as soon as they got back from Europe, but when Younes was photographed getting cozy with Instagram model Jordan Ozuna in Mexico, that's when Kourt pulled the plug. Younes didn't handle the breakup well and went off on "the media" in a series of Instagram Stories.

Cardi B and Offset were hip-hop's favorite couple -- until a series of claims against the Migos rapper surfaced, making him look mighty guilty of cheating on Cardi, who he secretly married in September of last year. Cardi announced in early December she and her baby daddy were through. She even threw out the D-word! Since being allegedly exposed, Offset has tried desperately to get Cardi back. Only time will tell if his efforts will work.

The most beautiful couple planet Earth has ever seen -- Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan -- announced they were divorcing in April after nine years of marriage, sending every hopeless romantic on the internet into a state of depression. They met in 2006 on the set of "Step Up," so at least their love will live forever on DVD.

John Cena and Nikki Bella broke the hearts of WWE fans when they announced their split in April, just weeks before their Cinco de Mayo wedding. The couple first began dating in 2012 and got engaged at WrestleMania 33 last April. John was always vocal about not wanting marriage or children, so the proposal was a bit shocking. The breakup -- not so much.

Halsey shocked all 10.5 million of her Instagram followers when she announced on the social media platform that she and her "Him & I" boyfriend, G-Eazy, were "taking some time apart." She alluded to infidelity on his part, which would be unfortunate for the rapper considering in the very song they have together, he says, "Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my [dick off]." The two got back together shortly after but called it quits for good in October.

America's sweetheart, Jennifer Aniston, seemingly found "the one" when she met Justin Theroux. But after five years of dating and two years of marriage, they announced they were separating in February. The couple's different lifestyles and long-distance relationship reportedly played a role in their split.

Paris Hilton called things off with fiancé Chris Zylka end of October. The two dated for about a year before he popped the question in January -- with a $2 million ring. "I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard. It was this whirlwind romance, and I've always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories. I thought it was gonna be my happy ending," she said last month. Poor guy still has her name -- in Disney font -- tattooed to his forearm. Yikes.

This one hurt. Of all the Kardashian-affiliated relationships, we really thought Brandon Jenner and Leah Jenner would last, but the couple announced in September that they decided to split after 14 "beautiful years together." Leah was the one who filed for divorce.

We watched Jenni "JWoww" Farley meet and fall in love with Roger Mathews on MTV's "Jersey Shore," so it broke our hearts when she filed for divorce in September, after less than three years of marriage. Roger is a truck driver who appeared regularly on the show, but Jenni rarely mentioned his name in the series reboot, "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation." At one point, Angelina even told Jenni her "psychic" grandma predicted she would be filing for divorce. Unfortunately, she was right -- and Roger has not taken kindly to the news.

This one's the worst one of all. Ariana Grande and Mac Miller broke up in May after two years of dating. Alluding to Mac's battle with substance abuse, Ariana quickly moved on to "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson, who ended up proposing to her just weeks after they met. Mac overdosed on drugs and died in September.

After 19 years of marriage, NBA star Scottie Pippen filed for divorce from former "Real Housewives of Miami" star Larsa Pippen. Many people speculated that rapper Future was at the center of the breakup, but no one ever confirmed those reports. Now, Scottie lives and works in Chicago, and Larsa can be spotted in the vicinity of a Kardashian at any given time.

Kendra Wilkinson filed for divorce from former NFL star Hank Baskett in April, after almost nine years of marriage. The reality star and former Playboy model documented almost every second of anguish that led her to make the difficult decision on Instagram, capturing everything from her mental breakdowns to what outfit she was planning on wearing to court. The two were never really able to get back on track after Hank allegedly cheated on Kendra back in 2014.

Elon Musk and Amber Heard were the perfect nexus of brains and beauty. Reports of them dating first began circulating in 2016, but the couple didn't make things Instagram official until April of last year. After a year of romance, they split -- but the Tesla founder continued to leave cute comments on the "Aquaman" star's Instagram posts. They got back together, but their romance ultimately ended in February.

Former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola and 2012 Miss Universe pageant winner Olivia Culpo were the epitome of beauty. We were hoping they'd get married and make 100 pretty babies, but that idea came crashing down on us when the two decided to call it quits in March, right after a romantic vacation to the Bahamas. When Danny unfollowed Olivia on Instagram and deleted all their pictures together, we knew it was over for good.

In September of last year, paparazzi caught Sam Smith and "13 Reasons Why" star Brandon Flynn smooching in the streets of New York City, and we all lost our minds. The two went Instagram official in December. Again, we lost our minds. They attended the Grammys together, and we nearly died. But in June, the two called it quits and wiped each other from the 'gram. We're still not over it.

In March of this year, Logic and singer wife Jessica Andrea came to "the loving conclusion" that they were "much better as friends," ending their two-year marriage.
