Paris Jackson has responded to reports that she entered a treatment facility to focus on her emotional health.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday morning, Jackson shared a new photo of her with her dog, as well as a message to fans about feeling "happy and healthy."
"The media is exaggerating per usual.. yes I've taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but I am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever," she wrote.

Referring to bandmate Gabriel Glenn, she added, "Gabriel and I have some new music we're stoked to share with y'all! Hope you guys' new year started out with lots of love and light and all the things. I'll be back soon!! xxox 🌻♥️"
The post came after multiple outlets, including People and Access Online, claimed she checked into a treatment facility to refocus and prioritize her mental health. The publications cited a source close to the Jackson family.

"She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her," the source continued.
The actress and model has been open for years about her struggles with mental health and depression, including suicide attempts, self-abuse and drug addiction. She opened up about these and other struggles, including being a survivor of sexual assault, in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2017.

"Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore," she said.
She has been more active in public life and professionally as an actress and model in recent years, though her social media presence slowed in recent weeks. Her most recent Instagram and Twitter updates before today came December 12th and 13th of 2018, respectively.
