Valentine's Day Massacre: 27 Couples Who Were Madly in Love Last February 14 But Have Since Split

What a difference a year makes. On February 14th 2018, all of the below pairings were still in love, blissfully unaware that that would be their last ever Valentine's Day together.

So if you too find yourself the victim of a recent break-up, take solace in the fact that these super-beautiful, successful, rich and famous couples couldn't make it work, either.

After nearly two years of dating — and a super-long Italian vacation — Kourtney Kardashian broke up with 25-year-old Algerian model Younes Bendjima. The two reportedly started having problems as soon as they got back from Europe, but when Younes was photographed getting cozy with Instagram model Jordan Ozuna in Mexico, that's when Kourt pulled the plug. Younes didn't handle the breakup well and went off on "the media" in a series of Instagram Stories.

The most beautiful couple planet Earth has ever seen — Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan — announced they were divorcing in April after nine years of marriage, sending every hopeless romantic on the internet into a state of depression. They met in 2006 on the set of "Step Up," so at least their love will live forever on DVD.

Even after two decades divorce can still strike. One of the longest-standing Hollywood marriages came tumbling down when screen heavyweight Robert DeNiro threw in the towel on his 21 year relationship with Grace Hightower. The former couple wed all the way back in 1997 — and that was after dating for ten years. It's not the first time they were rocking on their feet: They separated in 1999, just two years into their union, and began duking out a custody battle over their now 20-year-old son Elliot. However, they smoothed things over and the divorce was never finalized; they went on to have a daughter, Helen, now seven.

John Cena and Nikki Bella broke the hearts of WWE fans when they announced their split in April, just weeks before their Cinco de Mayo wedding. The couple first began dating in 2012 and got engaged at WrestleMania 33 last April. John was always vocal about not wanting marriage or children, so the proposal was a bit shocking. The breakup -- not so much.

Halsey shocked all 10.5 million of her Instagram followers when she announced on the social media platform that she and her "Him & I" boyfriend, G-Eazy, were "taking some time apart." She alluded to infidelity on his part, which would be unfortunate for the rapper considering in the very song they have together, he says, "Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my [dick off]." The two got back together shortly after but called it quits for good in October.

Paris Hilton called things off with fiancé Chris Zylka end of October. The two dated for about a year before he popped the question in January -- with a $2 million ring. "I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard. It was this whirlwind romance, and I've always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories. I thought it was gonna be my happy ending," she said last month. Poor guy still has her name -- in Disney font -- tattooed to his forearm. Yikes.

Anyone who watches the superb "Preacher" knows Jesse Custer and Tulip O'Hare are pledged to each other "until the end of the world" (even though she shagged his Irish vampire best mate Cassidy). However in the real world, co-stars Dominic Cooper and Ruth Negga only managed to last eight years — although in Hollywood terms, that is eons. Their split was confirmed in April, though the pair "remain friends". Let's hope their AMC chemistry continues to flare.

This one hurt. Of all the Kardashian-affiliated relationships, we really thought Brandon Jenner and Leah Jenner would last, but the couple announced in September that they decided to split after 14 "beautiful years together." Leah was the one who filed for divorce.

We watched Jenni "JWoww" Farley meet and fall in love with Roger Mathews on MTV's "Jersey Shore," but things clearly took a different turn when she filed for divorce in September, after less than three years of marriage. Roger is a truck driver who appeared regularly on the show, but Jenni rarely mentioned his name in the series reboot, "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation." Now JWoww claims Roger was abusive, allegations he denies.

Ariana Grande began dating "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson, who ended up proposing to her just weeks after they met, soon after her split with Mac Miller in May. Miller overdosed on drugs and died in September. Ariana and Pete split before the year was out.

Brooklyn's mom and dad have one of the longest standing celebrity marriages of all, so he can see first hand the bliss a stable relationship brings. Alas marriage was not in the cards for him and his "Kick-Ass" girlfriend Chloë Grace Moretz. CGM confirmed in July on "Watch What Happens Live" that she was single, but the break-up probably happened nearer April when the soccer star's son was spotted smooching Playboy model Lexi Wood

After 19 years of marriage, NBA star Scottie Pippen filed for divorce from former "Real Housewives of Miami" star Larsa Pippen. Many people speculated that rapper Future was at the center of the breakup, but no one ever confirmed those reports. Now, Scottie lives and works in Chicago, and Larsa can be spotted in the vicinity of a Kardashian at any given time.

Kendra Wilkinson filed for divorce from former NFL star Hank Baskett in April, after almost nine years of marriage. The reality star and former Playboy model documented almost every second of anguish that led her to make the difficult decision on Instagram, capturing everything from her mental breakdowns to what outfit she was planning on wearing to court. The two were never really able to get back on track after Hank allegedly cheated on Kendra back in 2014.

Shocking as it may sound, a relationship borne of a game-show in which a gang of guys are all in love with the same woman and try to marry her before they've even met her, didn't work out. Despite Shawn Booth getting both the first impression and final roses from Kaitlyn Bristowe, the couple announced their split in November, three years after getting engaged on the season 19 finale of "The Bachelorette." "After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways," they said in a joint statement. "This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we're very much committed to remaining friends and we will continue to support each other."

Former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola and 2012 Miss Universe pageant winner Olivia Culpo were the epitome of beauty. We were hoping they'd get married and make 100 pretty babies, but that idea came crashing down on us when the two decided to call it quits in March, right after a romantic vacation to the Bahamas. When Danny unfollowed Olivia on Instagram and deleted all their pictures together, we knew it was over for good.

In September of last year, paparazzi caught Sam Smith and "13 Reasons Why" star Brandon Flynn smooching in the streets of New York City, and we all lost our minds. The two went Instagram official in December. Again, we lost our minds. They attended the Grammys together, and we nearly died. But in June, the two called it quits and wiped each other from the 'gram. We're still not over it.

They officially went public in 2012, but Diddy and Cassie actually stretched way back to 2007. The 49-year-old, who is the father of six children, revealed in an interview early last year that he wanted more kids, and only with Cassie — which of course was the relationship's death knell. They confirmed their split in October that same year. The Bad Boy founder suffered further heartbreak last year when his ex and mother of four of his children — one of whom he adopted — Kym Porter, died in November, aged just 47.

"I am not married anymore" his paper bag could now read. Shia and Mia split in September of last year, just shy of two years after tying the knot in an impromptu ceremony in Las Vegas. The separation was "amicable" according to reps. Nevertheless, it came just days after Shia was photographed leaving the home of UK singer FKA twigs, whom he had directed and co-starred with in "Honey Boy." Oddly, Mia and twigs' most recent ex Robert Pattinson then went on to co-star in another movie, "High Life."

This one shook-us to our cores. Okay it didn't really; it was a much bigger shock when Ben split from his wife and mother of his three kids Jennifer Garner on June 30 2015, the day after their ten-year anniversary. He moved onto "Saturday Night Live" producer Shookus, but alas only lasted just over a year. They split in August, after which the 46-year-old moved on once again, this time to 23-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton.

Another relationship brought to a close by joint Instagram statements was Eli Roth and model / actress Lorenza Izzo. The couple had married in her home country of Chile in November of 2014, having met on his film "The Green Inferno" the year before. She went on to star in many more of his films, including last year's "The House with a Clock in Its Walls"... which looks likely to be their final collaboration.

This relationship had the sweetest backstory — a 14-year-old Liam actually auditioned for Cheryl when she was a judge on the UK "X Factor." He was dumped out after making it through the first round and told to come back in two years, which he did, and got dumped out again. But Nicole Sherzinger suggested he should unite with four other rejects... and One Direction was born. Cut to 2016 and he is dating the twice divorced Tweedy, who would go on to have a son together, Bear. Unfortunately this magical story was not enough to keep them together, and they split on July 1.

Despite its confusing name that clearly indicates nobody thought it would go beyond one season "Don't Be Tardy (To the Wedding)" is actually the most successful of all the "Real Housewives" spin-offs, running longer than even the mighty "Vanderpump Rules." Its break-out star Brielle Biermann split from Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech last year. "It was more of him wanting to take a break, and he wanted me to wait on him," Brielle told TooFab. "And I was like, 'I'm not gonna wait on you, dude. You clearly wanna go f--k around. You think I'm stupid? I'm not stupid. I'm not gonna be waiting for you to return. I have a life, too.' He was like, 'In a year, we can date.' I was like, 'Are you insane? No.'"

Amber Rose has a few famous rapper exes, including Kanye West, Machine Gun Kelly, and father of her son Sebastian, Wiz Khalifa. As of March of last year, she can also added to that list 21 Savage, who was nine years her junior. Savage has bigger problems than heartbreak currently, having been arrested by ICE officers upon the discovery he is not from Atlanta as everyone believed, but was actually born in great Britain, and had overstayed his visa by 13 years or so. He has since been released on bail but his fate has yet to be determined. They were actually last spotted together hand in hand... on Valentine's Day 2018.

The "Clueless" star filed for divorce from the S.T.U.N. rocker in May of last year, having wed all the way back in 2005. They share a single child, Bear Blu, who is seven. "They still deeply love and respect each other and remain very close friends but have mutually decided to separate after being together for 20 years,' the actress's rep said in a statement. "They have a son together who they will continue to co-parent."

She may be the most powerful character in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe — but even Captain Marvel herself is not immune to heartbreak. Brie Larson and rocker Alex Greenwald ended their engagement in January of this year, after almost three years together. Greenwald, who is the lead singer for Phantom Planet (who famously provided the theme tune to "The OC," remember that?) popped the ultimately doomed question during a 2016 trip to Tokyo.

Birdman and Braxton had been dating since May of 2016 and got engaged in February of 2018 — just before Valentine's Day in fact. But on New Years Day of this year, he sadly announced in a (since deleted) Instagram post: "It's over". The duo also erased every pic of each other from their social media. Birdman — born Bryan Christopher Brooks — at least has his $180million or so to comfort him.
