"It was very sweet," Perry recalled. "It was Valentine's Day... we went to dinner and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter."
"Very 'Bachelor,'" Kimmel joked and Perry replied, "Yes. I'm glad I don't have to go on that show now. I'm fine!... It was really sweet. He asked me to marry him in a helicopter."
However, not everything went according to plan, as Bloom had a minor mishap with the ring box because it was too big for his coat pocket. "The funny part is we had champagne in the helicopter and the [ring] box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say on a note," Perry explained. "You know to divert [me] right? He was going to pull it out when I'm reading it."
"So I'm reading [the note]," she continued. "And I'm hearing the champagne is like broken, the bottle's everywhere -- and I'm still looking at the note. He's pulling out this box that's too big for his coat pocket and it rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne."
The "Roar" singer said that she and Bloom landed the helicopter James Bond-style on a rooftop, where her whole family and friends were waiting for them. "He did so well," Perry gushed.
Also during her late-night appearance, Perry talked about living with Bloom as well as the hilarious story about how they first met. It was such a romantic moment -- the couple bonded over In-N-Out.
"In-N-Out plays a big role in my life," Perry said. "We bonded over an In-N-Out burger about three years [ago] at the Golden Globes. He stole one off of my table. I was sitting with Denzel Washington. He took it and I was like, 'Wait! Who -- oh, you're so hot. Fine, take it.'"
"And then I saw him at a party and I was like, 'How are those onions resting on your molars?'" she continued. "He's like, 'I like you.' And then, you know, cut to," Perry said, showing off her unique engagement ring. "They have to cater the wedding!" Kimmel said.
When asked who picked out the bling -- a flower-shaped diamond with a magenta jewel in the center -- Perry said, "I voiced my opinions." "That's the way to go!" Kimmel replied.
