Ellen DeGeneres Takes Credit for J.Lo's Engagement to A-Rod, Teases Ring, Name and More

The greatest unsolved mystery of our time -- for the moment -- may be why Jennifer Lopez tagged Ellen DeGeneres in her engagement photo, but the comedian thinks she knows exactly why.

She broke it down on her talk show Tuesday and it all stems back to Lopez' last appearance on the show, back on February 13. "I don't want to take credit for this but I may have given A-Rod the little push that he needed," she explained before showing a clip of J.Lo's appearance.

On that show, DeGeneres gifted Lopez with a giant clock bearing the faces of J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez kissing. She explained that it was to remind him that time was ticking. "I guess that's why she tagged me," DeGeneres laughed. "I'm pretty sure that's the reason."

She was happy for the couple, though she admitted it does create a new problem. As two of the most famous hyphenates in the world, what do we do now?

I don't know if she's going to keep her hyphen or she's going to take on his hyphen," DeGeneres said. ""I don't know if it's J-Rod, A.Lo, Lo-Rod, J.Lo-Rod ... I don't know."

She then threw up a big picture of that giant rock both sides of the couple shared to announce their engagement. It had to be a big picture to fit that diamond. "Apparently, that ring cost $5 million. I mean, it looks like it," DeGeneres said. "It's gigantic. She's gonna have to be really, really careful when she's washing dishes with that."

She then noted the framing of the picture, saying, "That ring is so heavy, he has to hold her hand up."

She also teased the overall picture, zooming out to show where it was really taking, while coming after J.Lo over the wedding date. "I don't know when the wedding is, but I hope it's not too soon because she needs time to get in shape, y'all," DeGeneres joked.

Whenever the wedding is, there's no doubt that Lopez is going to look absolutely stunning. And if recent evidence is any indication, her dress might just have a train that stretches across three counties.
