'Teen Mom 2' Recap: Jenelle Evans' Baby Daddy Accuses Her of 'Keeping' Jace from Him

After making an appearance via FaceTime earlier this season, Jenelle Evans' ex, Andrew Lewis made his full-fledged return to "Teen Mom 2" on Monday as he continued his mission to reconnect with son Jace.

Andrew famously left Jenelle, his son and the show a pursue to career as a "model in China" and has been MIA for most of Jace's life ever since. Their last interaction -- an awkward webcam conversation where his kid asked "Who's that?" of Lewis -- happened on the series back in 2017.

This week, Barbara agreed to meet Andrew in New York City to get a feel for how he's doing, as both she and Jenelle had doubts about his sobriety. We'll have to wait until the next episode to see how that meet up goes, but Andrew seemed excited about it as he talked to one of his friends on camera.

"Oh yeah, I missed out," Lewis said, referring to Jace's childhood. "I think about him every day. I talk to you about him. I missed out his first day of school, I missed out all the good things. Is he smart? Is he intelligent? Is he having issues?"

Lewis said he did try to reach out and connect with Jace "a lot," but never heard back from Jenelle or Barbara about "how" to make contact. "They never contacted me about how to talk to him," he said. "It's just not right that she's keeping him away of all the good people, all the good influence that he could have in his life to guide him great places."

"Could you just imagine me being able to see my kid and who I am and what I do and how we would be, like father like son?" he continued. "We would be like two peas in a pod. We'd tear this freakin' city up. I'm getting pumped talking about it. It's all on Barbara. Hopefully he'll come here, it's not about the past anymore, it's about moving on in the future. I'm doing good, I waited years and I knew one day that the time would come that he's gonna wanna see who I am, what kind of person I am."

If the preview for next week is any indication, however, the meeting may not even happen. In a sneak peek clip, Barbara was seen angrily calling Andrew on the phone after he didn't show.

TooFab also caught up with Jenelle in January, where she said Andrew "still has not seen Jace" and "there's no plans for Jace to meet Andrew at this time. Maybe in the future."

She also doubted Andrew's intentions, especially after he reached out to the show's producers and not Jenelle or Barbara themselves. "He pops in/out of my life every couple of years, then disappears again," she said. "I feel like he did it for attention more than anything because he didn't contact me first."

"I think Andrew would have to show that he is a changed person and not have his old bad habits of drinking too much," Evans added at the time. "So far it seems like Andrew hasn't changed at all. I have been in contact with Andrew here and there over Facebook a few years back. He couldn't write complete sentences and seemed drunk by how he was typing/talking."
