"This is like a meeting of the Angelina Jolie fan club, here," jokes Andy Cohen to his guests.
As onetime friends of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, respectively, Chelsea Handler and Melissa Etheridge aren't exactly Team Angelina Jolie.
But on Thursday's "Watch What Happens Live," one of them expressed regret for comments they made about Brad's second ex-wife following their split.
Melissa Etheridge Puts Angelina Jolie on Blast, Defends Brad Pitt
View StoryBrangelina came up when Andy Cohen asked a fan question to Etheridge about the song she performed about Jolie on the Bravo show back in October 2016. At the time, she spoke out about Angelina on Radio Andy, was met with complaints from her publicist and sang a song about the backlash from her team on "WWHL."
Melissa was asked whether she heard from either of them after the song, to which she replied, "No."
"I did," Handler joked. "I heard from both of them. I heard from Angelina, she's like, 'You f--ing bitch.' I was like, 'It's not me, it's Melissa Etheridge!'"
"No, it was really tense there for a day," Melissa added. "It was, getting kind of threatened and it all just poof went away."
Chelsea Handler Calls Jolie a "F---ing Lunatic" Amid Divorce
View StoryAfter Cohen noted that his guests we "like a meeting of the Angelina Jolie fan club, here," Handler then expressed some regret over her comments about Angie after the breakup. At the time, she called her a "f--king lunatic" on her talk show.
"I'm upset that I was so upset with Angelina Jolie," Handler said looking back. "I realize she's probably just trying to do her best too. Obviously, I'm not going to hang out with her but I get it now, I have more sympathy and empathy for people that are like ... she's really a mom and a wife and whatever she is, I'm not sure, but good luck to her."
Etheridge also revealed she considered having Pitt as a sperm donor for her kids, an honor that eventually went to David Crosby.
"Brad was considered, but that just seemed like really complicated, super complicated," she explained. Handler shot back, "I wonder why!"
"Both my children are like, 'I could have had Brad Pitt as a father!' but, no," she added.
