Why Some People Are Celebrating Adele's Split From Her Husband Simon Konecki

Adele and her husband Simon Konecki have sadly separated, however, some fans seemed to be unusually thrilled over the news.

It was announced on Friday the "Rumor Has It" singer and Konecki, who have been together for more than seven years, had split.

"Adele and her partner have separated," the singer's reps told the Associated Press in a statement. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."

The Grammy winner kept her relationship with the entrepreneur-philanthropist very private and didn't address the romance rumors until January 2012. That following June, the "Hello" singer announced she and Konecki were expecting their first child. The couple welcomed a son, Angelo, in October 2012.

Although she alluded to tying the knot with Koneckik when she thanked her "husband" while accepting the Grammy award for Album of the Year in 2017, it wasn't until the following month at a concert in Brisbane, Australia that Adele confirmed the news she had tied the knot.

The news of the pair's split soon went viral on Friday as fans on Twitter were buzzing about the possibility of a new Adele breakup album.

"Adele just split from her husband," a user wrote. "I think we all know what happens next...THE SADDEST MUSIC KNOWN TO MAN." Another added, "Oh f--k, new album is going to be heartbreaking."

"Adele is about to drop the best album of 2020, fam," a person tweeted. "I hope it was a healthy ending and she sings about finding healing."

However, there were many who slammed those celebrating Adele's split. Fans called out these people, ripping them for being excited about a new album rather than being concerned about Adele's mental health.

"Adele is separated from her husband and the only thing you can tweet is joy for a heartbreak album?" a person wrote. "Do you know how low she was when she gave us 21? I won't wish that sort of pain on her again."

"True fans are not excited at the news of her heartbreak," another added. "Even if Adele was the one to end it we know it is still hard for her because she has a huge heart. This is the father of her child and was her husband and boyfriend for 7 years."
