"He killed it," the actress said of the proposal. "He's got a lot behind that news desk [that] he's hiding."
Scarlett Johansson was in for quite the surprise when fiancé Colin Jost popped the big question.
While appearing on "The Ellen Show" Thursday, the "Avengers: Endgame" star opened up about Jost's "beautiful" proposal last May. Although ScarJo didn't spill a lot of details, it definitely seems that Jost has many more talents than what we see on "SNL."
Nicole Kidman in Shock When Ellen Suggests Charlize Theron Date Her Ex
View StoryWhen asked by Ellen if Jost's proposal was "romantic," Johansson replied, "He did, he killed it. He did like a whole James Bond situation. He was...surprising. He's got a lot behind that news desk [that] he's hiding."
"He's very charming and very thoughtful and romantic," she continued. "I was surprised. I mean, even if you kind of imagine what that moment's going to be like. It's still -- it was a beautiful moment."
Although Ellen didn't really pry for more details, Johansson did rule out a hot air balloon proposal. "So it wasn't really that great," Ellen joked.
"It was a very special moment," Johansson added of the proposal. "And I think more than anything when someone tells you they want to share the rest of their life with you... it's a lovely, special thing."
Johansson, 34, and Jost, 36, became engaged last May after two years of dating. The couple made their first public debut as a couple in November 2017. ScarJo was previously married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011 and French businessman Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017. The latter of which she shares 5-year-old daughter, Rose.
Although Johansson appeared on the talk show to promote her new films "Jojo Rabbit" and "Marriage Story," Ellen had to ask the actress about "Black Widow."
"So you die in this one, everyone knows that," Ellen joked. "If you haven't seen it, too bad. You had your chance!"
When asked about her training for playing the character, which she is reprising for the eighth time, Johansson said, "I do train a lot for the films, but I like the training part."
"We actually just finished ['Black Widow'] a week ago, which seems insane," she added.
Ellen also asked Scarlett about another possible role of playing Dolly Parton in a biopic -- after the music icon expressed how she would want Johansson to play her. Check out ScarJo's reaction in the clip, above!
Johansson also participated in a fun game of "Who Dat?!" where she had to name certain celebrities from Ellen's clues. Watch it all go down in the video, below.
