"We all make mistakes. This is not one of those times," writes Jim.
Jim Edmonds just came out swinging against speculation he cheated on possibly-estranged wife Meghan King Edmonds with the couple's nanny.
Following reports the former "Real Housewives of Orange County" stars split over the weekend, which was followed by additional accusations he had an affair with the nanny of their three children, Jim posted a lengthy denial Monday morning on Instagram. Sharing an old magazine cover showing the former St. Louis Cardinals player all suited up, with the headline "Imagine how this feels," Edmonds ripped into the allegations against him.
"BREAKING NEWS It's one thing to be accused of something. It's another thing to be so negligent and so careless, and ruin the lives of innocent young people," he wrote in the caption. "I did not sleep with our nanny. She's not just a nanny, she is someone that we brought into our house and promised to protect and look after while she was in our home. We have been treating and raising this young girl like she is our own child! For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it's disgusting and irresponsible."
"Just because I am an athlete and I was portrayed as a bad person on bravo TV. Doesn't mean I dont have a clue what life is all about," his post continued. "We made a promise to that young girls mom, that We would take care of her and make sure that she was safe while she was in our hands. I will not sit here and take this bullshit without fighting back."
Meghan King Edmonds Says She's 'So Raw' Amid Rumors of Split With Jim Edmonds
View Story"Just because you're extremely whitty and intelligent, and know how to play the Instagram game. Doesn't give you the right to use that platform to wrongfully accuse," he added. "Not only is it irresponsible. It is dangerous and puts my family in harms way. We all make mistakes. This is not one of those times."
He ended his message by saying, "My heart is broken for everyone involved. if you get anything out of this post. Get the truth."
So far, neither Jim or Meghan have directly confirmed reports he filed for divorce on Friday. Amid the split rumors, Jim seemingly took a shot at Meghan on social media over the weekend.
The former baseball player shared quite the cryptic quote on his Instagram Story on Saturday, as pointed out by the Instagram account Comments By Bravo. "No one can throw a bigger tantrum than a narcissist whose [sic] losing control of someone else's mind," the post read. Jim then sent his account to private.
Comments By Bravo also pointed out a response from the Edmonds family nanny, Carly Wilson. "Are the rumors true???" a user asked. "Are you not with Eric anymore? With Jim now??? The Bible quoting soul searching girl? This can't be true!!!! Please confirm!!!!!"
Wilson denied the reports. "The allegations are completely false," she wrote.

Meghan also shared a picture of herself with the caption, "So raw." In the comments, one user wrote, "Judging by Jim's Instagram, I'm guessing it's nanny Carly whom he posted NINE photos of 11 months ago. And she has deleted her IG." Meghan responded by simply sharing a thumbs up emoji.
"Big hugs, You are a strong woman Megs. Love you," wrote fellow housewife Tamra Judge. Todd Chrisley posted, "Love you sister, you got this."
Last week, Meghan revealed the pair were attempting couple's therapy.
"We're just still working it day by day. I think after such a breach of trust, it's so hard to rebuild from there, especially [with] so many distractions, like our son's health problems and two other little babies, as well," Meghan told The Daily Dish.
Four months ago, the former MLB player was accused of sending inappropriate texts to another woman when Meghan was pregnant with their twins back in March 2018. "I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person," Jim told Us Weekly in June. "At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none."
"Marriage is hard, we've been through our ups and downs, I've talked about it openly. A relationship takes two but it doesn't take two to cheat," wrote Meghan at the time. "I did nothing wrong, I don't deserve this. I did nothing except be pregnant with our twins and try to have a healthy pregnancy. So what is so broken in him to propel him to do this to me? To us?"
"Marriage is a choice on the bad days. And on the good days marriage is easy and beautiful," she wrote. "No one said it would be easy, I just didn't think it would be this hard," she added.
