Fallon shows A-Rod a blast from the past.
It took a little longer than he had probably hoped, but Alex Rodriguez finally got his "dream date" with Jennifer Lopez.
While appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Thursday night, talk quickly turned to the retired baseball pro's relationship with the iconic performer, who he's apparently had his eyes on for a very long time.
During the interview, Fallon resurfaced an old interview A-Rod did way back in 1998, where he was asked "What would a dream date with Alex Rodriguez be?" Without hesitation, he answered, "Jennifer Lopez, hopefully you could find me a date with her."
After watching the clip back, Rodriguez said the footage proves, "dreams actually do come true in America."
"But Jimmy, it took me 20 years," he added. "And by the way, the swagger with the hat backwards and the gum, you gotta be young to be that cocky and that confident."

"Anything that has to do with dance, I try to take a backseat. She's a professional dancer," he said. However, he added, "When I have a few cocktails, I'm not awful."
He also revealed the two have not selected a venue just yet, and said they're hoping for something small -- after Fallon suggested they tie the knot during the Super Bowl.
While that won't be the case, J.Lo and Shakira will take the stage February 2, 2020 in Miami.
