After teasing a new single on his Instrgram this week, Shawn Mendes finally released "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" on Thursday.
The song is featured in the deluxe edition of Mendes' sophomore album, "Illuminate." On Monday, the 18-year-old shared different blurry images in an Instagram Story and continued posting the teaser each day leading up to the song's release.
"It's equal parts what is amazing about this album, and what I'm so excited for about the music I have coming up next," Mendes said in a statement.

Mendes was most recently seen when he joined John Mayer on stage in Toronto to perform a mashup of Mendes' smash hit "Mercy" and Mayer's classic, "In Your Atmosphere." Mendes has openly addressed his admiration for John Mayer, calling him his biggest inspiration and idol, and his new song certainly shares a sound that is lined with a Mayer-like vibe.
