Captain America Slams Fox News and Its 'Goblin Army' for Not Dragging Trump Over Stormy Daniels

The Marvel star, who may or may not make it out of "Avengers: Infinity War" alive, took to Twitter to take a shot at the conservative cable news network for its never-ending support for President Donald Trump after it spent eight long years bashing President Barack Obama for anything and everything.

"Can you even IMAGINE if Obama had been accused of cheating on Michelle with a porn star to whom he paid hush money?" Evans asked his 8.65 million Twitter followers. "Fox News and its goblin army would indict his character and integrity EVERY SINGLE TIME they mentioned his name. And that's not hyperbole."

Hyperbole, by the way, is an exaggerated statement not meant to be taken literally, so he's arguing that every time Fox News mentioned Obama, it was to insult him.

Prime example: Fox News' personalities across the board recently praised Trump for agreeing to take a meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. But as you can see in the viral video below pointing out the network's stunning hypocrisy, Fox News personalities had a significantly more negative reaction when Obama expressed interest in meeting with dictators like Jong-un.

The porn star Evans is referring to is Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had a sexual affair with Trump in 2006 -- the same year his wife, Melania Trump, gave birth to their son Barron -- and is currently crowdfunding her legal fees to sue the president and his lawyer, Michael Cohen, for the right to speak freely about her experience with Trump, despite being paid $130,000 to sign an NDA before the 2016 election.

Hours before calling out the network -- which proudly claims to be "fair and balanced" -- for a clear political bias, he also shared a BuzzFeed report on former network contributor, retired Army lieutenant colonel Ralph Peters, who denounced the network in an email to colleagues after quitting his position as a "strategic analyst."

Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to "support and defend the Constitution," and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed.

In my view, Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration. When prime-time hosts--who have never served our country in any capacity--dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller--all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of "deep-state" machinations-- I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.

Fox News responded with this statement: "Ralph Peters is entitled to his opinion despite the fact that he's choosing to use it as a weapon in order to gain attention. We are extremely proud of our top-rated primetime hosts and all of our opinion programing."
