A newly svelte Jill Scott graces the cover of Ebony magazine, on newsstands now. The singer was photographed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold and sports a confident smile.
There's good reason for it. Scott lost more than 50 pounds thanks to her personal trainer. “Anything that makes me feel like I'm not working out,” Scott says of her regiment. “We go outside and throw footballs, go for walks.”
Along with her new look, the singer has a new album, "The Light of the Sun," dropping in June. "So In Love," the first single, is doing well on the Billboard R&B charts.
Saying that she's "in a good place," Scott draws inspiration from being a single mother to 2-year-old Jett Hamilton Roberts.
"I'm past caring about some things that never mattered in the first place and [I'm] in love with my baby boy," she says. "I'm also unafraid. I know how much music has always meant to me, how much it means to us all, and I know there's someone out there, maybe just one someone, who can feel inspired by being brave.”
