80s classic "Footloose" just got a makeover -- and the first trailer for the new Julianne Hough-starring remake shows how dance has changed since Kevin Bacon cut loose in 1984.

While the plot is pretty much the same as the original, the banned dancing in this year's version is definitely a lot more MTV friendly, with a whole lot of hip-hop/"Step Up"-like routines in our first look at the flick.
The movie, which opens October 14, co-stars Hough, Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell and newcomer Kenny Wormald in the Bacon role.
