2012 will bring with it a slew of new films, several of which we are already super excited to see.
Check out toofab's picks of 20 Movies To See in 2012, listed below by release date!
"JOHN CARTER," March 9, 2012 -- Starring "Friday Night Lights" hottie Taylor Kitsch, this fantasy adventure film looks like a cross between "Gladiator" and "Avatar." In other words, this movie looks awesome.
"MIRROR MIRROR," March 16, 2012 -- In the first of two Snow White films to hit theaters in 2012, Lily Collins stars as the fairest of them all, with Julia Roberts along in a hysterical turn as the Evil Queen.
"THE HUNGER GAMES," March 23, 2012 -- Easily the most-awaited film based on a book since the "Twilight" flicks, Jennifer Lawrence stars as the cunning Katniss, who valiantly steps in to save her sister from participating in a brutal fight-to-the-death competition. Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson co-star as Gale and Peeta, forming the most-debated love triangle we've seen since Edward-Bella-Jacob.
"THE AVENGERS," May 4, 2012 -- With Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and many more, this may easily be the most epic comic book movie ever made. Just watch the trailer and tell us you don't agree.
"DARK SHADOWS," May 22, 2012 -- In the eighth collaboration of Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton, the dynamic (and eccentric) duo take on a big screen telling of the 1960s soap opera "Dark Shadows." Just the few shots we've seen of Johnny as vampire Barnabas Collins -- here walking on set -- have us super excited for this one!
"MEN IN BLACK III," May 25, 2012 -- It's the return of the most stylish alien-hunters in the universe! Will Smith is back as Agent K, and Josh Brolin delivers a pretty great Tommy Lee Jones impression as a young Agent J -- as the film takes us back to the 1960s. Groovy.
"ROCK OF AGES," June 1, 2012 -- This big screen version of the Broadway musical about '80s rock, stars Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherinze Zeta-Jones and more. If this trailer doesn't make you scream "I love rock 'n roll!" nothing will.
"SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNSTMAN," June 1, 2012 -- The second of the Snow White films to hit theaters next year, this action-based retelling of the classic tale stars Kristen Stewart as the title character. Chris Hemsworth joins as the Huntsman and Charlize Theron is deliciously evil as the Queen.
"PROMETHEUS," June 8, 2012 -- Director Ridley Scott returns to his "Alien" roots with this creepy sci-fi movie starring Charlize Theron, Noomie Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Guy Pearce. Bring on the aliens!
"G.I. JOE: RETALIATION," June 29, 2012 -- Channing Tatum returns as Duke in this sequel to 2009's "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra." Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis and "Friday NIght LIghts" stunner Adrianne Palicki join in trying to save the world from the grips of the evil Cobra Commander.
