The 21-year-old's boyfriend Matt Prokop will join the hit comedy in an episode later this year. Zap2It was the first to report the news.
The couple met at a casting call for "High School Musical 3." Sarah wasn't cast, but Matt ended up playing Jimmie "The Rocket" Zara.
Sarah and Matt have shared the screen twice before, as young expectant parents in "Conception" and a more family-friendly love tale "Geek Charming."
According to TV Guide, Matt will play Ethan, the nephew of one of Claire's (Julie Bowen) friends. He's described as a "stand-up" kid with college aspirations, a far cry from Hayley's rocker boyfriend Dylan.
